rsday open mic. The instructor\, Bainbridge Island Poet Laureate Erin Malo
ne\, will provide a prompt or two for you to take home and try in your own
writing practice. The next Poetry Reading & Open Mic by the Bainbridge Is
land Poet Laureate Program is set for 7-8:30 PM Feb. 19 at the Bainbridge
Public Library\, 1270 Madison Ave. N. on Bainbridge. The featured artists
are poet Alan Chong Lau and musician Susie Kozawa. Lau is the arts editor
for the Seattle-based International Examiner. Kozawa is a sound artist who
will perform while Lau reads. The sign up to read during the open mic por
tion of the evening at the Poetry Reading is at 6:45 PM. Details There's n
o need to bring anything other than a notebook and a pen for taking notes
in this class\, if you like. The Bainbridge Island Poet Laureate Program w
as started in 2021 by an ad-hoc group of local poets. It became a non-prof
it corporation under the fiscal sponsorship of BARN in August 2023. Class
Policies Ages 16 and up are welcome.
