Tools covered include the cold saw, horizontal and vertical bandsaws, hand-held bandsaw, hand-held plasma cutter, drill press, welding clamps, magnetic angles, and die, angle, and bench grinders.

Participation in our welding and project classes, and Open Studio events is based on your ability to safely and comfortably use hand and stationary power tools. All welding shop participants will greatly benefit from attending this class prior to working in the shop for the first time.

Class Policies

  • Safety and personal protection equipment will be provided.
  • You must wear natural-fiber clothing (no stretch or synthetic fabrics), long-legged pants, long-sleeve shirts, and sturdy  shoes of natural fiber or leather with closed toes and heels.
  • Tie back long hair.
