About

Celebrate BARN's community as we light our holiday tree! Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or Festivus, join in decorating BARN's holiday tree with your handmade decoration. Add your ornament to the tree in the Commons between Monday, Dec. 2, and Friday, Dec. 6. Make something and share it to bring light and cheer during the dark season and to celebrate diverse holiday traditions.

We'll enjoy the spectacle together on Dec. 6 at 4 PM! See below for details on participation.

How to Participate

Make a small piece that conveys your holiday traditions and artistic interests. We’ll all hang our pieces on the tree as a way to share and celebrate each other and our community.

Guidelines

  • Only add decorations you’ve created yourself.
  • Just one item per person, per material. You can add one glass decoration, one wood decoration, and one paper decoration, but you cannot add two glass decorations. A single decoration made from wood and paper counts for both wood and paper.
  • Show consideration. Don’t dominate the tree or otherwise keep others from participating.
  • Mark your decoration somehow so you get credit (name, initials, logo, etc.).
  • Write your name and a description of your decoration on the info sheet paper next to the tree.
  • Hang up your ornament on the tree in the Commons between Monday, Dec. 2, and Friday, Dec. 6.
  • All holiday traditions are welcome.
  • Pick up your ornament between Thursday, Jan. 2, and Monday, Jan. 6 in the South Office.
