About

Here’s your perfect introduction to fused glass or a chance to add new techniques to your repertoire. You’ll learn basics about the properties of glass under fusing and gain confidence in cutting glass. Learn how simple heat is all you need to bend “stringers” into shapes that can give your dish a mid-century vibe, if you choose.

Discover how easy it is to work in the Glass Arts Studio as you learn the process of purchasing glass and kiln paper, and how to get your work fired in the kiln to get the result you want. You’ll also improve your glass-cutting skills.

Project

You’ll make an 8-inch-square plate in the colors of your choosing. You’ll have leftover glass to use on other projects. For example, you could make small dishes in an Open Studio.

Materials

A materials fee of $50, included in the price of the class, will cover everything you need to make your plate.

Class Policies

  • Ages 14 and up are welcome.
  • Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required in the studio at all times. Long hair should be tied back.
