About

Make several kinds of soups and stews  –  big batches of them – for our neighbors, and a little for ourselves.

You'll take home a pint of each, but the bulk of our bounty will be distributed by Helpline House. Many of the folks who shop at the food bank at Helpline House are thrilled to take home ready-to-eat meals.

The soups will make use of the season’s vegetables, and include both vegetarian and meat recipes.

On the menu:

  • Roasted carrot
  • Pacific Rim potato and vegetable stew (vegan)
  • Brazilian black bean

Materials

A materials fee of $30, included in the price of the class, covers everything you need.

Instructors or Guides

Kate McDill

Kate McDill learned to bake at the Surrogate Hostess on Capitol Hill in Seattle. The training included both traditional French pastry and breads, and American comfort goodies. Baking is her craft, and she is happy to share her knowledge and pass on the art of creating tasty treats.
