About

Members are welcome to work on personal projects of all kinds during Open Studios, which include a monitor but no specific instruction.

The monitor will be exploring a variety of book forms, so feel free to drop in and watch over her shoulder as she works out the structural elements that combine to create a book. Bring your projects and questions and plan to stay awhile. This is not a class or a formal teaching session, but a great chance to watch a book being made and ask questions about your own projects. We can learn together!

The last half hour is devoted to cleanup.

Details

  • Registration is required because there is a set number of artisans who can be in the workspace at one time. No drop-ins.
  • If you have questions, or are interested in becoming a studio monitor, email Print & Book Studio Lead Jane Kim at printandbook.lead@bainbridgebarn.org

Prerequisites

You must have taken introductory classes in either printmaking, letterpress, or book arts or have attended a studio orientation.

Class Policies

Ages 14 and up are welcome.

Amy Goldthwaite

Amy has found pleasure in working with her hands since she was a child — from building environments for troll dolls, to bead stringing, party decorations, sculpture, and bookmaking. Her hand-eye coordination is well used. She enjoys mastering thorny design challenges and exploring all things paper and fiber related.
