About
Members of the community play an active role in the process of collecting, reporting, analyzing, and disseminating news and information. It is another form of news gathering and reporting using journalistic methods to create stories that are accurate, fair, and entertaining.
We'll discuss the importance of being a citizen journalist. We'll also cover an introduction to BARN's new citizen journalism workshops. Through the workshops, you can learn the valuable skills needed to be an effective journalist. Those in the workshop will work towards making an active internet and cable TV site that shares the news and events important to your community.
Presenter James Forsher Ph.D. will share his experience and expertise. He has produced more than 100 nationally aired documentaries, including shows focusing on gentrification ("The Cadillac Hotel") and homelessness ("Lost Warriors").
