About

This class focuses on designing, building, and using jigs that include toggle clamps to secure wood for shaping with a router or shaper, such as making curved or tapered legs for furniture.

You'll build your own jig from scratch and use it to create a demonstration chair leg. You'll get experience using BARN's shaper (but you'll need additional experience to get checked out to use this tool on your own during Open Studio).

Toggle clamps also are useful in a wide range of other jig applications to hold work pieces consistently and securely. You'll learn tips for creating safe and durable jigs for some of these other situations, as well.

Class Policies
