About

Come make a throwing knife! This is both a challenging beginner bladesmithing project and an intermediate-level course. You'll make your own version of the project and learn the basics of bladesmithing.

We'll cover shop safety including proper material handling, use of the tools in the shop, and basic hammering techniques. You’ll put all of this into practice by drawing and tapering the material, punching and drifting the ring, and shaping the edge geometry with hammer and anvil.

We'll also cover the basics of heat treatment, including hardening and tempering. At the end of the class, we’ll retire to a space setup where you can safely practice throwing your knife. It’s a great class full of fun and skill building.

Materials

A $25 materials fee, included in the class price, covers all the materials you'll need.
