Join Betsy and Grae to watch them complete a pull from the vitrograph kiln. This is for observation only, watch the studio calendar for opportunities to learn to use the vitrograph kiln yourself.
If you are already experienced with the vit kiln and want to pull a pot of your own, please email betsyh@bainbridgebarn.org to coordinate the firing time. We only have room for one more pot!

Instructors or Guides
Grae Drake
Grae is deeply in love with glass. There isn't much that beats the zen of standing over a warm torch wrangling red-hot molten glass into shape. In previous lives, he's been a tech entrepreneur, corporate lawyer, juvenile delinquent. Most recently he's BARN's executive director.
Betsy Hagestedt
Betsy has been working with fiber since she was in elementary school, having learned to sew and knit from her mom. As an anthropologist, she uses her fiber practice as a means of connecting with people from other cultures, embracing the universal nature of fiber arts. Knitting gradually became her specialization due to its portability as she began to travel around the world. You can see some of her fiber experiments on her Instagram feed at behestknits.
Since starting at BARN she has been learning as many new skills as possible. She is highly involved in torchworking in the glass studio, and has started dabbling with welding and woodturning.
