About
If you're querying agents for the first time, or you’ve been querying but haven’t seen the level of interest you'd like, let's tackle that query letter so you can go from query novice to a query pro. Instead of just “teaching,” we'll get hands-on with your letter.
Micah Brocker from Corvisiero Literary Agency hosts this in-person bootcamp that is part presentation on the querying process and part in-class query letter critique. Micah will share insights from her years of experience as a literary agent. She'll help demystify the query letter, break down the fundamental elements of a query letter, and put those elements together to create the perfect query.
We'll start with a presentation that digs into, and drafts, each element of a query. Then a few query letters will be broken down and built back before breaking into groups to work on your query letters with the help of the instructor. By the end of this class, you should be ready to send your query letter to any agent.
You will learn:
- The art of querying: When to query and where to find agents.
- The elements of a query letter.
- How to organize and compose a query letter.
- How to strengthen your query to get maximum agent attention.

Micah Brocker
In both film and novels, she is interested in young adult contemporary stories that deal with messy relationships and issues that can help young adults put words to their experiences. She's also looking for YA science fiction and urban fantasy that provide an escape while still helping us connect to the everyday troubles of growing up. In adult literature, she loves women’s and upmarket fiction dealing with burdensome secrets, messy relationships, and characters with a deep desire to change their lives, the world etc.
You can find this Seattle resident hiking or running in the rain when she's not indoors reading with her trusty cat at her side.
