About

Get the creative juices flowing and create a number of beautiful mosaic glass projects over this four-day intensive workshop we're calling "summer camp for adults." Make gorgeous mosaic things of all kinds, like a garden gazing ball, pendants, votive holders, and other garden art.

Day 1, Getting Started: Create your design and prepare the base for a fascinating seven-inch gazing ball. Get right into mosaic work by also creating jewelry pendants.

Day 2, Diving In: Begin applying glass mosaic to your gazing ball. As you wait for the ball's mosaic to dry, keep practicing your mosaic patterns and make gorgeous glass votive holders.

Day 3, Finishing Strong: Complete your gazing ball design. Design and mosaic a rock to serve as a garden memorial or decorative door stop.

Day 4, Finishing Touches: Learn to grout like a pro. Complete another mosaic project of your choosing.

You'll have time to grout your work in the studio under the instructor's guidance.

Details

The day includes a break for lunch, so it's recommended you bring a meal with you. BARN has a refrigerator and microwave on the lower level.

Barbara Henderson

Barbara is a mosaicist with a passion for helping others express themselves through the art of mosaics. She discovered art a little later in life than lots of other people, having been distracted by corporate life, ladder climbing, and the nonsense idea that she wasn’t creative. Now her favorite thing is to watch a student realize their unique ability to produce something personal and meaningful, and to develop their own artistic vision. Her favorite saying is that “perfection can be purchased at the Dollar Store. Art and beauty are found in the unique and flawed.” She serves on a variety of boards and committees and lives in Gig Harbor with her husband and far too many dogs and chickens.
