This is a great opportunity to reach new readers and meet people who love words as much as you do. It takes courage to share your work with others. Be brave!

Details

  • Open to the public, and everyone is welcome.
  • No need to register in advance.
  • Sign up for the open mic will start at 6:45 pm. Poets will be asked to keep their readings to four or fewer minutes.
  • This event was formerly held at BARN, and is now at the Bainbridge Public Library.

Featured Reader: Jory Mickelson 

Jory is the award-winning author of All This Divide and two other books of poetry Wilderness/Kingdom, and Picturing. They are an educator, storyteller, and speaker who lives in Bellingham, WA.

Host: Michele Bombardier, Bainbridge Island Poet Laureate 

Michele (top photograph) is Bainbridge Island’s first poet laureate and the author of "What We Do," a Washington Book Award finalist. She has published more than 100 poems and reviews, holds a master's of fine arts degree in poetry, and is the founder of Fishplate Poetry, offering retreats and workshops.
