About

Get comfortable creating beautiful and delicious foods from Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.

Venture to Asia (with your taste buds) and explore some of the delectable rice or noodle bowls found there. What makes each bowl authentic to that country? You'll learn the sauces that make each bowl so unique, colorful, and delicious!

You'll dabble in making kimchi cucumber, bibimbap sauce, peanut sauce, faux fish sauce, and Japanese sesame dressing.

Beyond kitchen skills, you'll work as a team, communicate, assist, and problem solve together, while having fun and making new friends.

On the menu

  • Bibimbap Bowl: Create a rice bowl with vegetables, kimchi, cucumber, and eggs.
  • Crazy Crunchy Bowl: Assemble a rice bowl with crispy tofu, crunchy veggies, and peanuts, topped with a peanutty sauce.
  • Bun Tom Nuong: This noodle bowl has fresh veggies, grilled shrimp, and a faux fish sauce.

    Theary Tran

Theary spent her childhood years in her native Cambodia, where cooking was integral to the culture. Cooking with local ingredients and trusting her senses, Theary learned to achieve flavor in dishes that looked as good as they tasted. These skills enabled her to feel at home regardless of the cuisine she's exploring. For the past 20 years, Theary has been bringing her love of art and cooking to children and adults, teaching fundamentals as building blocks for creativity. The result is a safe and encouraging environment for students to explore their imaginations. Her goal is for each student to have a positive experience that inspires self-confidence, and the opportunity to connect with their own creativity. Theary is currently a K-6 educator locally and in Sonoma County. In her spare time, she spends time in the water, kayaking, hiking, or biking.
