If you want to quilt but don't know where to start, this class will walk you through how to begin, covering all the little-known tips, tricks, and best practices for learning or improving your skills. You'll learn the importance of fabric selection; how to accurately measure; how to cut, pin, and press; how to use a rotary cutter; how to select thread; and much more. You'll prepare and "square up" a quilt block to make a perfect "half-square triangle."

You'll walk away ready to join the Quilt Block-of-the-Month Club as well as improve your skills in BARN's Busy Bee, which meets two Tuesdays a month.

Materials

All materials for the class will be provided.

Maryjane Efstathiou

Maryjane Efstathiou has been quilting for more than 30 years and has taught and worked in several different quilt stores during this period. She also had a longarm quilting business and has been published and won several ribbons. Since moving to Bainbridge she has become involved with BARN and the Fiber Arts Studio mostly through slow-stitch events.

Danielle Mariani

Danielle has been a quilter for 25 years and is a former board member of the Austin Modern Quilt Guild. She finds find joy in vivid colors and loves to sew curved quilt blocks. She hopes to inspire new quilters here at BARN.
