About

If you're experienced with the basics of linocut printmaking but would like to take a more experimental approach, here's a chance to try processes like chine collé, using cold-mount adhesive, combining print and collage, stencils, free-form inking of carved and blank plates, altering the inked plate, and printing over collages, drawings, watercolors, or old prints. You also may want to try adding drawing, pochoir ink, etc., to a print.

We'll focus on experimentation on the first day, and provide time to develop your ideas through a series of print variations on the second day.

Details

Skill level: Intermediate. You must have experience with carving linoleum plates and using the etching press.

Materials

A $40 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers all materials needed (including additional unmounted 6" x 6" lino).

If you have them, please bring carved lino plates (unmounted) that you would like to experiment with along with existing drawing, prints, or collage you would like to print on. You're also welcome to bring your favorite collage materials and/or drawing media.

Class Policies

Ages 14 and up are welcome.
