About

Learn to make flowers from a variety of decorative papers. We'll begin by discussing the texture, weight, and flexibility of the materials provided. We'll also discuss size ratios, the optimal number of layers for each, and the appropriate wire gauge.

Our first flowers will be made from tissue and will help us explore petal shapes and the addition of faux stamen. Taking our time, we'll gently pull each layer up until the flower is fully open. Then, we'll move on to working with papers of different weights. Whether they be bright with summer sun, rich with the colors of autumn, or a creative mix of holiday cheer, your bouquets will last for years to come.

Printed instructions with some illustrations will be provided along with a list of resources.

Project

You'll create a small, colorful bouquet of paper flowers to take home.

Amy Goldthwaite

Amy has found pleasure in working with her hands since she was a child — from building environments for troll dolls, to bead stringing, party decorations, sculpture, and bookmaking. Her hand-eye coordination is well used. She enjoys mastering thorny design challenges and exploring all things paper and fiber related.
