About

Build a beautiful small box using contrasting hardwoods, such as maple and sapele, a type of mahogany.

You'll mill the wood, glue strips of different wood types to create a design, and smooth and cut the resulting pieces to precise lengths. Then you'll explore simple joinery to make the pieces into a box. Jewelry-style hinges, a wooden handle that you make, and an oil finish will add touches of elegance to your completed box.
