About
Steven Withycombe, who has helped run the Furniture Lab at the University of Washington's College of Built Environments for 15 years, is the featured speaker for this month's woodworkers' presentation. A lecturer of furniture design and fabrication at UW, Withycombe assists students as they create models and prototypes, full-scale wood furniture, furnishings, building components, and design-build projects.
He studied at the School for American Crafts at Rochester Institute of Technology and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Rhode Island School of Design. He worked with some of the legendary makers of the region before fulfilling his dream of moving to the Pacific Northwest.
