Learn different application methods for working with transparent enamels.

You'll be using textured copper to create your sample pieces and silver foil. Several demos will be given including using transparent enamel on sterling silver. 

    Materials

    • A $39 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers all base material, which will be provided. 
    • If you have recently taken a class on creating texture with the rolling mill, feel free to bring some samples to work with.

    Prerequisites

    Class Policies

    • Ages 14 and up are welcome.
    • Wear closed-toe shoes and natural-fiber clothing.
    • Do not wear loose or synthetic-fiber clothing, dangling jewelry, scarves, or ties.
    • Tie back long hair in ponytail or bun.

    Karin Luvaas

    Karin Luvaas is a Bainbridge Island artist and jeweler with a degree in encaustics, painting, and metal sculpture. She has studied under numerous jewelry masters including Blaine Lewis, founder of New Approach School for Jewelers in Tennessee, and achieved graduate jeweler status under Alan Revere of the world-renowned Revere Academy of San Francisco. Karin also is a GIA Graduate Gemologist and holds a Jewelers of America Bench Jeweler Technician certificate. Her current work can be seen at karinluvaas.com
