Learn how to use a Pinsta pinhole camera and experience the wonder of seeing your images come to life using only a box with a tiny hole – no darkroom required! This camera captures the charm of lo-fi photography, turning each shot into a handcrafted memory and giving you a direct connection to the magic of analog. You’ll leave with one-of-a-kind photos and the foundational knowledge to ignite your journey into analog photography.

The simple-yet-elegant Pinsta has gained a cult following among photographers and other creatives around the world. This lens-less camera and darkroom is hand-made by a small team in Great Britain, combining the simplicity of early photography with the ease of on-the-spot developing. 

Details

  • No photography or other experience required.
  • You’ll go home carrying one or more impressive, analog photographs.

Materials

A $50 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers all needed materials including  photographic paper and film, developer and fixer, syringes, Pinsta cameras, and black bags for use during class.

Jen Cohen

Jen is the founder of Raw Art Collective, an incubator for creative projects fostering community engagement, including an art vending machine, traveling camera obscura, PT Pinhole project, and Port Townsend’s annual Artist Studio Tour. Jen’s work appears in galleries, community projects, and public spaces, encouraging moments of wonder and curiosity. What excites Jen most is sharing the awe and surprise of pinhole photography, inviting others to slow down, see beauty in the unexpected, and explore their creativity. Martin Vanners

Martin’s journey with pinhole photography is all about connecting with light in its rawest form. Using his Pinsta camera, Martin captures fleeting moments directly onto photographic paper, inviting viewers into a world of mystery and beauty. His path has led him from roles at Nikon and Wacom to Pinsta, dedicating himself full-time to the endless possibilities of pinhole photography. Whether teaching workshops or capturing scenes across the globe, Martin brings a sense of wonder to his work, encouraging others to embrace the unexpected and rediscover the magic in everyday moments.
