About
Renowned Thai satay skewers actually came from Java, but by the late 19th century had taken hold in neighboring Thailand. The Thais get credit for making this dish world-famous as street food and in restaurants across the globe.
Join us for a hands-on cooking experience in making Chicken Satay (and Tofu). You’ll learn how to make the delicious marinade using herbs and spices such as lemongrass, turmeric, galangal, cumin, and the accompanying peanut sauce. To balance out the richness, you’ll also learn to pull together a quick and refreshing cucumber salad. This tasty trio will all be created from scratch.
In this class, you will:
- Learn the art of skewering chicken and tofu.
- Use a mortar and pestle to prepare the satay marinade.
- Learn the secrets to a delicious peanut sauce.
- Make a quick and refreshing Asian cucumber salad.
Together we’ll share a wonderful meal of satay, and you’ll take home any leftovers!
