About

Help make BARN and our community more prepared by knowing the basics of administering CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and how to use an AED (automated external defibrillator) use. Seconds count, and with your participation in this class, we're all better prepared.

You'll learn proper CPR techniques. It will be a hands-on, compressions-only class. All participants (unless physically unable) will have time on the floor to practice their skills on a manikin.

You'll also learn when and how to use AEDs, which are located throughout the community. Two are located near the elevators at BARN, for example. AEDs are portable electronic devices that diagnose and treat life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias.

This class is generously provided by the Bainbridge Island Fire Department as part of a community resilience series at BARN.
