About
You'll be fully engaged with lots of action and useful information, then leave the shop with a knife you'll use in your kitchen to chop fresh herbs. You'll learn proper safety in a blacksmith shop, too, while making this function-inspired blade.
We'll cover proper handling of material coming out of a hot forge with hammer, tongs, and anvil. You'll learn the basics of steel identification and heat treatment that will include how to harden your new tool by quenching and then tempering by “running colors.” And you'll learn how to sharpen your chopper with basic filing techniques while adhering to the geometries of knife making.
So, learn blacksmithing basics, proper forging techniques and hot shop safety, while having a lot of fun!
