About

Learn how to plan your dovetail project, how to use a router table to cut the tails, and then how to adjust and use BARN's flexible dovetail jig to cut the corresponding pins. The combination of the router table and the dovetail jig offers a flexible approach to beautiful and effective joinery. The class also covers dovetail applications, sizing and spacing, and how to accommodate different species of wood.

Create a small dovetail demonstration box and take home a handy guide summarizing the process.

This dovetail jig was built by Bob Spangler, a Bainbridge Island furniture maker who teaches a chair-making class at BARN.
