About
Learn how to join your previously created quilt blocks and what is needed to turn those blocks into a completed quilt. Learn how to:
- Square up your blocks.
- Arrange your blocks into a pleasing design.
- Sew blocks together to make a quilt top.
- Do cornerstone layout.
- Spray baste, pin baste, and stitch-in-the-ditch to complete the quilt.
- Make binding and sew it to the front and back of the quilt.
Details
- This class is a follow-up to the Quilt Block-of-the-Month class.
- You'll need a sewing machine. You can bring your own or reserve one of BARN's to use for free when you register.
Materials
- Bring your own sewing machine, or choose to use a BARN machine when you register.
- You'll also need to bring:
- Your previously completed quilt blocks.
- 1 yard of fabric for sashing.
- Fabric for binding and backing (the amount needed will be calculated during the first class meeting).
- Twin-size batting.
- Curved safety pins (at least 100 recommended).
Prerequisites
- Fiber Sewing Machine Certification if using a BARN sewing machine.
- Completion of the Quilt Block-of-the-Month class, the Quilting Basics class or equivalent experience with a strong knowledge of piecing.
