Learn and practice Fusion360 design methods to make a simple box similar to the one shown here. You'll see how Fusion 360 can benefit woodworkers in design visualization, material planning, and prep before going into the shop. And, you'll learn how the design can be quickly changed to make a box of any size.
Learn these Fusion360 skills to improve the quality, simplicity, and usability of your designs:
- Sketching
- Constraints and why you should use them
- Using construction lines to simplify your sketches
- Projecting objects into your sketches
- The heartache of sketches that aren't fully constrained
- Using components
- Your project has multiple parts, it should have multiple components
- Creating new components
- Importing components
- Working with component tools
- Assembling components
- Make your design move like the finished product
- Rigid joints and groups
- Rotating joints
- As-Built joints
- Using the timeline
- Step back in time to correct a mistake before it happens
- Complete a rough design, then step back and add details
- User parameters – the key to easily resizable designs
- Making a cut-list for your parts
Details
Basic Fusion360 skills are required for this course (unless you just want to watch), but it is intended for people relatively new to Fusion. See "Prerequisites" below.
Prerequisites
Fusion 360 Basics Beginner or equivalent experience. Basic Fusion 360 skills that are required are;
- Ability to start Fusion on your laptop
- Create a sketch
- Extrude a solid
- Ability to rotate the model, and zoom in and out
